A mix of tradition and modernity
Ivanka Trump, eldest daughter and senior adviser of US President Donald Trump is on an official trip to Morocco. The business woman arrived in Rabat Wednesday to promote women’s empowerment.
The mother-of-three was greeted by Moroccan Princess Lalla Meryem, the eldest child of the late King Hassan II of Morocco. According to the White House, Ivanka jetted to the North African country in an effort to highlight women’s economic empowerment in developing countries.
As a former fashion designer, Ivanka’s looks have always delivered and her wardrobe for this trip was no different. It was clear that the daughter of the American president wanted to pay homage to Morocco’s culture while looking modern and trendy. The 38-year-old touched down in the capital, wearing a grey trouser suit with an embroidered jacket, designer by Moroccan designer Fadila El Gadi.

After receiving a warm welcome from the Princess and Morocco’s foreign minister, Ivanka spent her second day touring a local olive grove in Sidi Kacem. For this occasion, the senior adviser opted for an ensemble from the same Moroccan designer, wearing a white embroidered top with a belt and black pants.

After her trip to the farm and a tour of old Rabat, Ivanka met with Morocco’s Prime Minister, Saadeddine el-Othmani, and Morocco’s Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita. For this official meeting, the senior advisor opted for a more professional look while keeping with traditional Moroccan embroidery. This emerald green combo set also came courtesy of Fadila El Gadi. The look featured a satin pants and blouse set, with a heavily embroidered poncho on top.

For a dinner at the Royal Palace, Ivanka opted for a gold kaftan, paying homage to Morocco and its traditional wear.

For her final day in Morocco, Ivanka spoke at the US Embassy in Rabat. She then attended an event at Palais de Congres, where she helped to share the news about a pilot program that will see $6.2 million given to nine awardees to help women in the workforce. This was the senior advisor’s most modern look yet, rocking an all white top and pants combo, with a large broach.
