What happens when you blend Swedish design with English charm? A fabulous bag collaboration of course.
British brand Mulberry has joined forces with Acne Studios on limited edition capsule of handbags and small leather goods that sees some of the familiar styles given a new twist.
“This is a collection about friendship and our freedom as brands to do what we want to do,” says Jonny Johansson, creative director of Acne Studios. “It is like a conversation between Acne Studios and Mulberry, one that is founded in mutual respect and a desire to make great product.”
The folded origami bow of the Musubi bag by Acne has been fused with the tote shape of the Bayswater by Mulberry to create a perfect bag on the go with a handy wide strap.
Mulberry’s famed Scotchgrain bags have been given Acne Studios treatment and now feature multiple leather buckle strap fastenings and oversized metal hardware.
“I like how they are practical and you also want to carry them. It feels good to make bags that are desirable and that also have purpose,” adds Johansson.
