Luxury online platform Net-A-Porter announced the latest set of lucky designers who will benefit from a unique mentorship program The Vanguard. Among the designers selected is the Iranian-British handbag label S. Joon that will receive a comprehensive 360-degree guidance.

S.Joon’s name is a portmanteau of founder Sahar Asvandi’s first initial and a Persian term of endearment. Designed in sculptural silhouettes, the Italian-made pieces are inspired by her love of vintage handbags, blending elegant textures with elevated lines to create the timeless aesthetic.  Founded in 2017, Sahar created a collection of beautiful statement-making handbags, defined by its distinctive shapes and sophisticated aesthetic.

Now part of The Vanguard alumni, Sahar will receive support from Net-A-Porter’s global team of specialists, ultimately supporting their long-term development into successful and sustainable businesses. Not bad for a dancer and choreographer who had this handbag brand as a side hustle.

“We are truly committed to providing long-term support and continuously develop and enrich the mentorship to ensure we are offering an ecosystem for emerging talent to thrive,” said Elizabeth von der Goltz, Global Buying Director for the e-commerce site.
