Sharjah has welcomed a new dining experience that blends food, history, and culture: Al Atlas.
Set inside Bait Elowal, a cultural and culinary hidden gem envisioned by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Al Atlas is a supper club that takes its guests on a journey through flavours and stories inspired by Emirati traditions and the Silk Road.

The concept is built around a seven-course menu called “A Pilgrimage of the Senses”, where each course is revealed as the evening unfolds, with no menu given in advance. This element of surprise is central to the experience. Guests are invited to discover each dish in real time, much like travellers who once stopped at caravanserais along trade routes to rest and share stories. The food itself draws on ingredients and recipes that have travelled across seas and generations. Spices once traded in souks, dishes once prepared in family kitchens, and flavours that passed through the Gulf centuries ago are reimagined with a modern touch. Every plate has a story, whether it is about where the ingredients came from or how a traditional recipe has been reshaped.
The evening is about more than food. Sounds, textures, and scents change with each course, creating a sense of movement, as if travelling across landscapes on a map. It is designed to remind guests that dining is not only about eating but also about connecting with the history and culture behind what is on the plate.

For Sharjah, a city known for its focus on heritage and the arts, Al Atlas feels like a natural fit. It takes history out of books and museums and serves it in a way that feels personal and present. By mixing storytelling with dining, the supper club creates an atmosphere where guests can experience the emirate’s past while enjoying its evolving food culture.
