Taking viewers on a ride through the city
British hitmaker, Rita Ora just released the music video of her latest single, New Look from her 2018 album, Phoenix. In the clip, the 28-year-old sings about a relationship with an anonymous lover who is not being completely faithful to her.
The two-minute-and-43-second music video dropped on Monday, and in it, Rita explores Dubai, taking her fans on a tour of the city. If you are a resident of the UAE, you will recognise the spots New Look was shot in, as they are all the hot-spots that the Emirate has to offer. The songstress is a frequent visitor to the UAE, and has been teasing details about the new video on her Instagram over the past few days.

The clip opens up with an aerial shot of Sheikh Zayed road and Burj Khalifa, two of the most recognised parts of the Dubai. The camera then zooms in towards a Dubai license plate that spells out ‘R1TA’. The singer is seen playing a mechanic by day who gets behind the wheel of her Dodge Challenger at sundown to indulge in illegal street car racing. The race breaks-out at the famous wavy Meydan bridge, and spreads to other parts of the city including Bur Dubai and the Sheikh Zayed Road tunnel.
Other parts of Dubai also get their time in the limelight, like Al Seef and the Creek. Al Seef’s historical buildings and neighbours are the backdrop that Rita uses to showcase her role as a mechanic by day. Moreover, the 28-year-old and her girlfriends are also spotted hanging out at Dubai Creek, and then her love interest hops on an abra. Nevertheless, our favourite part of the video the representation of Arab women, front and centre. New Look, showcases hardworking Muslim women with unconventional jobs.
