Huda and Mona Kattan are pretty unstoppable right now
Kayali, the brainchild of Huda and Mona Kattan is basically the Middle East in a bottle. If, like us, you love to lather and layer up your fragrances, Kayali will strike a chord with you. Meaning ‘my imagination’ in Arabic, the Kattan sisters have created four distinct scents: Elixir, Vanilla, Musk and Citrus which are designed to be mixed and matched according to your sense of scent.
Here’s what you need to know about each scent:
Elixir | 11
Elixir opens with sweet notes of red apple and rose petal essence, before revealing a floral heart of rose centifolia and uplifting touches of jasmine sambac from India.
Vanilla | 28
A mix of creamy jasmine and rich Madagascan vanilla orchid draws out the sweet softness of Brazilian tonka, balance out with oriental notes of musk, amber, patchouli and brown sugar.
Musk | 12
You’ll get hits of lotus flower, freesia and sheer Jasmine and then the voluptuous blend of vanilla and creamy sandalwood come through.
Citrus | 08
Sparkling citrus notes of Italian bergamot and pink grapefruit mingle with rhubarb , blackcurrant and pink pepper which is leveled with musk, tonka and mystical oakmoss .
Mona Kattan explains: “Personalisation is a growing movement and this concept empowers people to express their unique tastes and individuality. Bespoke beauty is something we’re very passionate about and Kayali is all about discovering your own unique fragrance.” Huda adds, “The sense of smell is the most powerful of all the senses, and so many of my memories are tied to a specific scent. I can reflect back to a time and place in my mind when I smell a certain fragrance – it just has the power to transport me. What we wanted to achieve with Kayali is a fragrance collection that invites exploration and creativity, to create scents that are truly their own.”
Kayali fragrances are available in 100ml for AED450
