HM Queen Rania might be the undisputed royal style lodestar of the Middle East. Equally, she is also one of the region’s fiercest advocates for furthering the social causes of women and children especially in her home country of Jordan.

Inside Queen Rania’s heartwarming visit to a hard-working village
On Tuesday, Queen Rania visited the headquarters of the Families Development Association in Jabal Al Qusor in Amman. She has posted video from that visit on her Instagram stories and shared it with her 4.5 million followers.
According to a report in The Jordan Times, Queen Rania met with the facilitators of the programmes at the centre which seek to empower families living in poverty and specifically raise employment opportunities for women.
In the videos, the royal can be seen visiting the centre’s sewing workshop and also the cooking workshop where women are taught skills which tool them with the know-how required to set up their own businesses and launch themselves and their families onto the path of financial independence.
Queen Rania has consistently been working for the causes of women empowerment and children’s education in Jordan. In March, for example she announced an initiative where she would be providing financial support to 100 local families in Jordan so that the women within the families can initiate income-generating projects.
There are plenty of other examples of her various initiatives to raise the overall living condition women and children in Jordan. We’ll leave you with a few that we found on her Instagram page.
Here she is during one of her other visits to Child Centre in Jabal Al Nasr in Jordan.
Her majesty listens intently to a class in progress at the Hayyan Rwaybed Al Sharqi Elementary Coeducational School in Mafraq.
As well as advocating for education, Queen Rania has also promoted the ‘Say No to Bullying’ campaign in Jordan’s schools.
Style and substance? That’s a combo we’ll always appreciate.
