The latest supermodel turned entrepreneur Gigi Hadid has now added fashion designer to her resumé.

Hadid made a special announcement to launch her 100 percent cashmere brand, Guest in Residence. However, the journey wasn’t easy.

On Tuesday, September 6, the supermodel shared a heartfelt post to her 74.5 million followers about how she had multiple opportunities in the past for starting her own label. Her response to the immense pressure on her to start a label was, “I would start something when I found a path that felt genuine for me to take.”

“The earliest days of @guestinresidence came about when I started to question the cashmere market, and those answers gave me a path. 100% cashmere is 100% cashmere; but in the past, it is a material that, at its most integral state, has been made exclusive,” she expressed.

Hadid posted snippets from her first campaign, entitled “Yearbook – portraits of humans.” Creatively executed to celebrate newborns to 100 years old, to celebrate the timelessness and intergenerationally of cashmere, which has always been regarded as a classic in any wardrobe.

Just in time for winter, the pieces embody comfort at the core to resonate with her “favourite kinds of people”, those who make an effort to show up at any door, land in any country, sit down at any table with a sense of comfort.

To celebrate the launch, the supermodel planned an intimate event with a select few in New York. From her sister Bella to close friend, Emily Ratajkowksi on September 6, 2022 to officially unveil the first capsule collection from her brand.

After months of research, the Dutch-Palestinean model has officially launched her brand with warm knitwear in a myriad of shades, which will be available for the US and globally from September 12, 2022 onwards on
