Her career is going from strength to strength…
At this stage, if you’re not familiar with Halima Aden, the only explanation is that you haven’t been paying much attention.
The Somali-American teen is one of the world’s most prominent hijabi models, and we don’t see things slowing down for her any time soon.
Aden’s latest move has been to take to the runway for MaxMara’s show at Milan Fashion Week. In a denim jacket, black trousers and overskirt, and a sleek black hijab, the 19-year-old looked incredible. These are the sorts of clothes we actually want to wear.

The model was clearly stoked about her appearance, posting to Instagram to thank MaxMara for casting her.
That denim jacket is a must-have (such cool sleeves) but we’re equally excited about the show’s beauty look.
The smudgy red lip, dewy skin, soft contour and simple eye is an absolute look to try. It suits Aden down to the ground, too, as you can see from this backstage snap.
It hasn’t been a bad month or so for Aden, with her catwalk appearance coming off the back of a Fenty Beauty ad and a Nike contract.
We’re hardly surprised by her success – we’re long-time Aden fans around these parts – but it’s still incredibly cool to see.
When she signed with Nike, Aden said: “My life philosophy is: If I did well yesterday, I could do better today.”
It’s pretty clear she’s living up to that maxim.
