Over the weekend, Britney Spears announced the exciting news she was engaged to her boyfriend of five years, Sam Asghari.
Sharing a statement on behalf of the newly engaged couple, Sam’s manager, Brandon Cohen, confirmed the news of the engagement to People.
“The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them,” he said.

Following the announcement of their engagement, details surrounding Britney’s rock were revealed by the ring designer Sam chose.
Reportedly costing an estimated $70,000, the ring was designed by Sam and Roman Malayev from Forever Diamonds NY.
“The thought and detail Sam put into this ring made the design process so special for Roman and our team,” Forever Diamonds NY said on Instagram. “In honor [sic] of the Lioness herself, we are naming this gorgeous setting The Britney.
“Sam and Britney, we wish you a lifetime of happiness together and are honored to welcome you to the Forever Diamonds Family.”

In reference to the “lioness”, which is a nickname Sam calls Britney, the four-carat diamond ring holds a hidden message – it’s engraved with this loving pet name on the inside of the band.
Earlier this year, speaking on her conservatorship for the first time in a statement given in court, Britney shared her desire to marry Sam and have children with him, but her situation would not allow it.
“This conservatorship is doing me way more harm than good. I deserve to have a life,” she said.
Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, was granted control of the pop star’s personal and business affairs in 2008 following her battle with some severe mental health issues. The conservatorship was ordered by a court in 2008.
However, it seems the tides are finally turning for the pop star with the happy news of her engagement.
Britney and Sam first met in 2016 on the set of a music video.
