By switching to flight mode, the Hermès SS22 show took place at the Le Bourget airport, Paris, with optimism at its helm.

Presented on a panoramic flight runway, the airport hangar became a key element of the show as models walked through it, portraying the house in pieces with newfound joy.

As fashion houses gear up for life in a post-pandemic world, the Maison presented a balance between comfort and practicality with shades of all kinds. Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski delivered nothing short of an immersive experience for its audience, both in-person and worldwide, through the power of streaming.

By effortlessly embracing structure, the collection was presented with intricate styles to suit all. From matching knitwear to black leather pantsuits, certain looks evoked the house’s key orange hue in a new light.

With 2020’s ability to highlight comfort, Hermès honed the same throughout their collection. Ultra-luxe loose-fitted silhouettes dominated the runway, representing symbols of liberation.

With simplicity being a focal element, a fresh attitude was seen on the runway in solar colours which the house is often associated with. By reinventing the wheel, the runway presentation instilled a new purpose in the fashion world.

There’s no doubt that the accessories made their own impact at the show. With thick strappy platform sandals and matching leather socks, adding their own oomph, each look became hard to miss this season. Eyelet details inspired by the Mangeoire bag also enhanced the contours of the clothing.

Ending on an impactful note, the house’s creative director, came out to take her bow as a jet landed behind her, as she continues to carry the Maison’s legacy.
