The new power dressing.

From being an award winning singer, to a beauty mogul, to fashion designer, there’s no denying that Rihanna is the epitome of a ‘girl boss’ and now she is taking it one step further by becoming the first black, female designer under LVMH group with her Maison Fenty brand.

It is also the first luxury fashion house that the conglomerate has created from scratch and will run on a see-now-buy-now basis.

“Designing a line like this with LVMH is an incredibly special moment for us,” Rihanna said in a statement. “Mr. Arnault has given me a unique opportunity to develop a fashion house in the luxury sector, with no artistic limits. I couldn’t imagine a better partner both creatively and business-wise, and I’m ready for the world to see what we have built together.”

Ahead of the pop-up in Paris on May 24 before rolling out online on May 29, Rihanna took to Instagram to give us a first glimpse of what we can expect and it looks like an instant sell out.

Shot for T Magazine, tailoring seems to be at the core of her collection with many of the jackets accented at the shoulders, while some feature a corset inspired detailing on the waist – and we all know how much RiRi loves a corset. Denim also plays a major role, as well as sharp shoes and chunky sunglasses.

“Some days I want to be submissive, many days I’m completely in charge and most days I feel like being both,” she explains in a statement. “So it was imperative that we created a line versatile enough to embrace and celebrate us in that way. The collections are easily worn together and meant to be staples in our wardrobe.”

Countdown to May 29 is on.
