Supporting mental health

Last month on February 15, the world was shocked by news of the death of British presenter, Caroline Flack. To honour the late TV personality, British-Jordanian designer Hasan Hejazi is recreating a dress of his that was worn by Caroline for charity. He revealed that he will be donating the profits to English and Welsh mental health charity, Mind.

Earlier this year, the former Love Island host wore an orange playsuit-skirt ensemble by Hasan Hejazi to the British National Television Awards. As a tribute to Caroline, the designer is remaking the piece in pink and is naming it the ‘Caroline dress’. The dress will be sold for £250 (AED 1,180) with around £100 (AED 470) going for donation.

“As a tribute to Caroline Flack I will be remaking this dress in a new colour. Launching tomorrow [February 28] the ‘Caroline’ dress with be available exclusively from my website for a short time only. All profits (approx £100 per dress) will be donated to Mind Charity, a charity who provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem,” Hejazi wrote on Instagram.

“Caroline wore this dress in January 2019 for the National Television awards. I was so happy that she had chosen to wear one of my designs for such a big event and so beautifully, for a independent designer like me it’s a huge deal,” he added.

“I never had the pleasure of meeting Caroline in person but still I feel heartbroken and shocked like so many of us do that we have lost such a bright star. I really hope that we can all learn lessons in how to treat others and create a safer and happier place for us all to live. Please #BEKIND”.

According to Hejazi’s website, customers can expect delivery of their Caroline dress in early April.
