It’s no secret that we live in a world where uniqueness is hard to come by, original ideas are quickly snapped up to be copied and limited edition is in high demand. So when a pop-up shop is announced we often glaze over. Until now, that is. Harvey Nichols Dubai has launched a Digital Design Studio, creating exclusive and unique T-shirts made by us, the customers.
Customers are able to create both male and female T-shirts, choosing from over 300 unique images and patterns. Using interactive touch screens you can create your own distinctive piece within minutes. With many different themed backgrounds including abstract animals, plants, fruits, cakes, candy, architectural structures and landscapes, you’ll be too tempted to even consider the plain ones. Once you have made your decision, the process continues by adding the foreground elements, which can be manipulated to your own taste via the touch pads. This will also include adding any text you may wish, before your one-of-a-kind design is complete.
The final stage of the process will see expert staff placing your T-shirt on a heat press, where you can watch your design come to life in a matter of minutes allowing you to take it home straight away or even put on. Even if your not tech savvy the staff will be on hand to guide you through the countless options the technology has to offer. There is also a collection of images on the system by locally-based artist and designer Charlotte Hudders, who has partnered with Harvey Nichols Dubai for this exciting project. Her work includes bold and tropical prints perfect for summer. The Sheikha Manal Young Artist Awards winners will also have their prized designs available for you to select from.
A single-sided printed T-shirt retails at Dhs350 while a double-sided design is priced at Dhs400. The pop-up store is located on Level 2 of Harvey Nichols Dubai. After one week it will then move to Level 3.
