Happy belated Birthday Sarah Jessica Parker. As our favourite Sex And The City star continues to celebrate her 50th birthday we look at the actress’ transformation from Rusty in Footloose to Carrie our carefree footloose and fancy style icon… When Sarah Jessica Parker aka SJP turned 50 yesterday (March 25) she celebrated with her family as her adorable kids pampered her throughout the day. Impressed by her little darlings, the actress documented the whole day through Instagram. See below.

A true example of how persevering pays off, it took 24 years for SJP to get her great break in the industry. While she has starred in a series of classics including Footloose and Hocus Pocus (it is a classic, trust us), it wasn’t until 1998 when a certain Carrie Bradshaw walked out in New York in a tiny tutu and got splashed by a bus running over a puddle that we all paid serious attention to the incredible actress.

Fast-forward to 2004 and the grande finale of Sex And The City and SJP had a cult following, including all of Team EW. Cashing in on her style icon status, she fast became brand ambassadors for various fashion labels and even launched her own covetable collection of heels, which are now available in the UAE.

To honour Sarah Jessica Parker on her milestone birthday we decided to look back on her 10 most memorable career moments.

The morning started with breakfast, complete with Post-It messages from her kids. We love the presentation – like a smiley face.

With husband Matthew Broderick performing in theatre, the actress and her three kids spent the day in New York with the star posting cryptic messages, giving clues as to what they were doing. The caption to this images simply read: “The this happened…”

It turns out the gang went to the top of the Empire State Building…

SJP shared a cute picture of her kissing her son James who had worked hard to make his mum’s birthday extra special.
