Sabato de Sarno has taken on a new position as Creative Director at Gucci.
As the successor to Alessandro Michele, De Sarno has taken the crown in the Kering kingdom to head the brand with his creative vision. He is all set to present his first Spring/Summer 2024 collection at Milan Fashion Week in September this year.
In his new role, De Sarno will lead the House’s Design Studio reporting to Marco Bizzarri, President and CEO of Gucci, with the responsibility for defining and expressing the House’s creative vision across the women’s, men’s, leather goods, accessories and lifestyle collections.

“I am proud to join a House with such an extraordinary history and heritage, that over the years has been able to welcome and cherish values I believe in. I am touched and excited to contribute my creative vision for the brand,” said Gucci’s latest Creative Director.
The Italian designer has played a key role in the design studio at Valentino for the past 12 years and will now be adding yet another commendable role job title to his CV. After previously working as the fashion director of the men and women’s RTW collections at Valentine and heading stints at Prada and Dolce & Gabbana.

Known for working behind the scenes, Sabato is deeply honoured with this new role and after working with Italy’s most sought-after fashion houses around the world, he comes with years of experience under his wing.
With Michele leaving behind a noteworthy legacy, the house is ready to begin a new chapter. Known for his stellar renaissance, he managed to leave behind a successful name by creating some of the buzziest fashion trends around the world.
Gucci has not yet confirmed De Sarno’s official start date, however, he is expected to begin his new role soon.
