What’s it like shooting one of the hottest shoe designers at the moment? Well, you’re about to find out.
Amina Muaddi represents the fierce independent spirit we wanted to champion in ‘Go Your Own Way’ April issue. In this exclusive footage, you can see exactly what happened behind the scenes of our amazing cover shoot with shoe designer and entrepreneur whose building an empire one incredible shoe at a time.
In our exclusive interview, she revealed how she has overcome challenges when building up her in-demand shoe empire, and revealed how she tackles daily obstacles.
“Life is not perfect, we have to take what gets thrown at us and bounce back,” she said. “Often an obstacle is a signal or a blessing in disguise. I’m learning to accept things I can’t control and try to make new mistakes and not repeat the old ones.”

Known for her attention grabbing flared heels, the Paris-based brand quickly gained a loyal following of celebrity fans including Kendall Jenner and Rosie Huntington-Whitely. Her distinct aesthetic has propelled her shoes to the top of everyone’s wish list, so much so that Rihanna has recruited her to design shoes for luxury fashion label Fenty.
“It’s exciting and I am thrilled to work with such an inspiring woman and the Fenty team,” she told EW. “The first Fenty drop designed by me will launch in June 2020.”
Her mind is constantly engaged on the next project. When she’s not designing in Paris, she is jetting to Italy to spend time at the shoe factory. Despite the pressure she happily places on her young shoulders, she is open, smiling, energetic and a joy to be around.
Her intoxicating positivity, professionalism and impressive ability to strike a different pose with each click of the camera is what made the shoot so dynamic.
“Nothing is perfect, and I don’t strive for perfection, but to give my all in order to create and give my clients the best possible version of my work,” she poignantly said.
