Like a pro!
Gigi Hadid has cemented her place in the fashion industry, walking countless runways for big brands during fashion week. One of the latest included the Marc Jacobs show at London Fashion Week.
When photos of the Palestinian-American model walking the Marc Jacobs Spring 2020 runway barefoot emerged online, a lot of fans just assumed it was all part of the show – after all its fashion week. However, turns out that is not the case, and Gigi actually suffered a last-minute wardrobe malfunction at the LFW runway. But, being the supermodel that she is, the 24-year-old handled the whole thing like a pro.
According to an Instagram post from stylist Katie Grand, who was working with Gigi and the other models for the show, both she and the supermodel literally had to think on her feet after one of the heels broke at a critical moment. In her post, Grand explained that Hadid was actually wearing thigh-high silver socks and white mules when she first walked during the “first opening finale” of the show—until one of the shoes’ heels broke.
“Since we were at the other end of the armoury there wasn’t much we could do other than either fake a non broken heel or rip off her socks and shoes and send her out barefoot, which we did, and was all the more natural for it. Gigi and all the people from the show thank you all so much for being so patient, beautiful and inspiring,” Grand wrote in her caption.

If you look closely at Grand’s Instagram videos and photos from the show, you will notice that other than being barefoot, Gigi can be seen walking on the balls of her feet, essentially playing off the whole wardrobe malfunction by making it seem as though she was still wearing heels.
