Juror hat on

Gigi Hadid is joining a panel of eight experts from the fashion industry to select semi-finalists for LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers.

Prestigious award is back for the seventh year, and budding creatives only have today to apply before the list closes and the jurors, who also include Moda Operandi co-founder Lauren Santo Domingo and fashion and buying director Natalie Kingham from Matches Fashion, make their edit.

“They are witnesses and essential actors of fashion. Their vision helps to discover the most promising talents. I would like to thank them warmly for their loyalty and commitment to our cause,” said executive vice president of Louis Vuitton, Delphine Arnault.

Hadid and co will have to choose 20 semi-finalists, from which eight designers will be picked out by another committee of 59 international Experts to then proceed to the Finale taking place on June 5.

What’s on the line? The luxury conglomerate is offering Dhs1.2 million cash prize as well as a one-year mentorship from a “dedicated LVMH team” and a chance to work at one of the historic Maisons LVMH owns for one year, such as Hermés, Givenchy, and Dior. Now that’s something money can’t buy.

Good luck to all the applicants
