She has been voted Model of the Year, she was a runway star at the international fashion weeks and she is besties with Kendall Jenner, now, further cementing her role as the new It model to watch, Gigi Hadid is the face of Topshop.Just because it is a high street brand, the coveted role, which sees Gigi Hadid as the face of Topshop, is not to be knocked, after all supermodels Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne have also been faces for the brand. Kendall Jenner and sister Kylie has also collaborated with Topshop, creating capsule collection.
Gigi injects her gorgeous and cosmopolitan Californian-vibe in the adverts as she stars for the autumn/winter 2015 campaign. From fitted little black dresses, to the tuxedo jackets (we predict this will be a statement best seller), leopard-print coat (our personal fave) and lace up heels, the collection already has us longing for cooler climes, or at least whacking up the air conditioning so we can sport the fun line indoors.
“Working with Gigi Hadid on this campaign continues to strengthen our international vision for the Topshop brand,” said Sir Phillip Green, Chairman of Topshop’s parent company the Arcadia Group. “We are continually developing our footprint across all markets with ambitious plans both in the UK and internationally and I feel like Gigi is an ideal ambassador to underpin these efforts.”
The 20 year old positively smoulders in the new campaign shot by Tyrone Lebon and styled by Topshop creative director Kate Phelan. Some fashion sources claim the move to hire Gigi was clever on many levels for the brand. Not only is it able to jump on to the model’s massive social media following – she has 4.9 million Instagram followers and her post revealing her new role as the face of Topshop garnered 278,000 likes – but her mixed ethnicity also helps the brand shake off it’s solely British image and make it more appealing to the international market.
Stunning singer Ciara is also the new face for Topshop. While her campaign images are still to be released, her beau Russell Wilson was extremely cute about her new role, reacting on Twitter:
