Jean-Paul Gaultier staged his final couture collection for Spring 2020 in the grand Théatre du Châtelet in Paris, and it was a stellar affair. With the former French first lady Carla Bruni and Christian Louboutin among the attendees, the show – and it was a show – began with a dramatic funeral-style procession with a very Gaultier coffin brought out on stage which revealed a model dressed in white inside.

Then came the familiar faces of global super models almost dancing down the runway, including sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid. Gigi wore the iconic sailors outfit featuring a striped bodysuit with white wide-leg trousers and sailor hat, while Bella was dressed in strapless dress, gloves and boots.

Winnie Harlow, Dita Von Teese, Karlie Kloss, Coco Rocha, Paris Jackson, Rossy de Palma, Lais Ribeiro, Karen Elson, Estelle Lefebure, and Khelfa also joined the vibrant celebrations of one of the greatest fashion designers.

Jean-Paul Gaultier announced his final couture show on Instagram, but he also said that it wouldn’t be the end and teased “a new concept” for the line in the near future.
