At 48, she can still rock sample size couture like Carrie Bradshaw, but unlike her famous alter-ego, the 165m (approx. 5ft2ins) actress nourishes her 123lbs (56kg) figure with more than just back issues of Vogue. In fact, she counts pasta, bacon and cheese among her fave foods, making sure to work up a sweat with her personal trainer to work it off when she does indulge. Here’s how she does it.
SARAH JESSICA PARKER’S DIET
SJP is a fan of The Hampton Diet, a hybrid of the Aktins, the Mediterranean Diet and the South Beach Diet. It encourages followers to choose leans meats, healthy fats and restrict refined carb intake, and, like the Mediterranean diet, it is rich in fish, low-carb veggies and organic whole foods. The magic ingredient of the diet is macadamia nut oil – thought to boost metabolism and long-term weight loss. Unlike the Atkins, carbs are allowed in moderation (40-60g a day), or less if you have more than 10lbs to lose.
FOODS BANNED FROM SJP’S DIET:
- Refined carbs
- White sugar
- White bread, pasta and rice
- Processed food
- Saturated fats
SARAH JESSICA PARKER’S DIET ADVICE:

SARAH JESSICA PARKER ON HEALTH & FITNESS:
“I do yoga whenever I can.”
“I love to eat…I think about food all the time.”
“No real woman should look to any woman in this industry as an example. It’s simply not applicable because of the enormous number of advantages we have. Women should be reminded to be healthy rather than to be a size zero. I’m not going to kid you: money changes everything. I’m fortunate enough to have things like private trainers and yoga classes. I realise that.”
“I don’t think I’m in that great shape these days. I have to workout a lot harder. The body just doesn’t snap back in the way it used to when I was in my twenties!”
“I try to do yoga three times a week, and my twin daughters act like arm weights.”
“I work out for a sum total of 22 minutes, because that’s all I can bear.”
