The latest capsule is a dream.

Romance and minimalism go hand in hand for Cecilie Bahnsen. Her pieces are exceptionally pretty, yet have that edge that even Villanelle would approve of.

Most recently the Danish designer created a 15-piece collection for MATCHESFASHION.COM. The capsule features dresses in her signature voluminous and feminine designs, adorned with floral embroidery and beaded details. The collection also includes a white version of the beaded sandal, created in collaboration with Japanese brand Suicoke, exclusive to luxury online platform.

For the creative vision of the collection, Cecilie collaborated with several female creatives including teenager Margrethe Hjort Hay, who inspired the floral beading details, and photographer Josefine Seifert who shot the editorial imagery of the collection.

Below she talks us through the pieces and her design process.

Talk us through the inspiration behind the capsule and the choice of collaborators.

I wanted the collection to represent our signature sculptural silhouettes and strong monotone colour pallet, but I also wanted to contrast this delicately embroidered florals and splashes of colour in the beading.

I was also very inspired by the feeling of sisterhood and the connecting that the Cecilie Bahnsen girls have with our design. I wanted the collection to be about friendship and collective mood. – a world of unashamed femininity, where sophistication, strength and female power are to be found in feminine dressing.
