Saudi Arabian designer Mohammed Ashi makes history by becoming the first Gulf designer to be a part of the official Paris Couture Week Calendar.
As a guest member of the Fédération de la Haute Couture, Ashi Studio will be showcasing its debut collection on July 6, 2023.
Launched 17 years ago, Ashi Studio made Paris its permanent base in 2018 — it’s only befitting to now be a part of the fashion capital’s most iconic institution.
In his expansive career, the designer has dressed an impressive roster of A-list celebrities from across the globe. Names like Beyoncé, Deepika Padukone, Cardi B, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Queen Rania of Jordan have consistently worn couture pieces by the Arab designer over the years.
While Lebanese designers like Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad have been couture week regulars over the last decade, Ashi is the first name to claim the spot from the GCC.
“This appointment is the highlight of my career. I will honour it in the memory of the great couturiers who came before me and whom I now join in the pursuit of this grand tradition of excellence in creativity and savoir-faire. This recognition brings me the greatest emotion; it offers me the opportunity to share with you who I am,” shared the designer on social media.
Speaking of the opportunity, the designer took this pivotal moment to share the limelight with the dedicated team in his atelier. “As this new chapter unfolds, I recognize that today would not be possible without the exceptional talent and dedication of my atelier. I wish to thank everyone who has worked to bring my dreams to life.”
Best fashion moments by Ashi Studio over the years.
