Thanks to a new filmmaking summer programme offered by Emaar Retail – Future Filmmakers Summer Camp – your little one’s dreams of becoming the next Steven Spielberg or Sofia Coppola could that next step closer to a reality.
The Future Filmmakers Summer Camp hosted by Reel Cinemas offers an opportunity to enhance your child’s learning skills and interactive skills, as well as teach them how to make films. By the end of the camp the participating children will conclude with creating a one-minute short film presented at a red carpet gala closing ceremony and screening (September 3). The event will be attended by VIPs and industry professionals, who will present awards in various categories. Nikon will be providing all the necessary equipment for the participants as well as the prizes for some of the categories.
This summer camp is not an opportunity for kids to loiter around, oh no, it will groom the next generation of filmmaking talent in the UAE. In partnership with Murdoch University Dubai, professional trainers from the university will be teaching the various aspects of filmmaking as one of the first kids orientated camps in the UAE, which provides a solid platform to learn the art and technology of filmmaking and producing their movies from script-to-screen.
The professionals at Murdoch University will lead the summer camp with four classes a week for one month, every week they will bring a new programme making it more exciting and lively.

The course will run from August 2 to August 31, 2015. The first three modules will be at Reel Cinemas, The Dubai Mall. The fourth module will be taught at Murdoch University Dubai campus. The Summer Camp is aimed for children between the ages of eight to 18 years old and is Dhs1,500 per participant.
