Be sure to pay them a visit before it gets too hot…

Summer is coming to the UAE faster than we can say “pass the sun cream”, and with the rise in temperatures comes burning sand and sea water as hot as a Jacuzzi – not exactly the refreshing dip you were hoping for after sweating up a storm on the lounger.

But don’t despair – we reckon there’s still another month left before we have to hide away in the air-con. So why not make the most of it and book a day at one of Dubai’s hippest beach haunts before the heat hits?

Here are our top picks…

El Chiringuito

el Chiringuito

Where: Rixos The Palm

Vibe: Has your Instagram feed recently been flooded with sun-dappled shots of hanging wisteria and cool-white and wooden furnishings? That would be the latest beach club to hit our shores fresh from Ibiza. White cabanas and loungers line the beach and lounge pool, complete with towels and a friendly waiter service. When it all gets a bit steamy, head undercover for a glass of something cold and a big pot of paella to share at the restaurant. Just make sure to book a table early on.

The damage: During the week ‘double beds’ are free for ladies and Dhs100 for guys. Then it all gets a bit complicated: Beach beds, ‘bali beds’ and cabanas all come with different minimum spends depending on it being a weekday or weekend. For reservations and enquiries, email dubai@elchiringuitoibiza.com or call (054) 449 6464.

Opening hours: Daily from 10am to 12am. During Ramadan 2017, the beach club and restaurant will close from May 28, re-opening on the first day of Eid.

Cove Beach

Beach Clubs The-cove

Where: Jumeirah Beach Hotel

Vibe: With the waves lapping at the shore of this beautiful little cove, you may feel like you’re sunbathing under the Mediterranean sunshine – that’s until you take a glance to the left and spot the iconic Burj Al Arab on the horizon. For ladies, the best day to go is Wednesday, when you and your girlfriends can enjoy free-flowing pink grape, cocktails and nibbles while laying on a complimentary day-bed, all for Dhs100 each (offer is valid from 12pm to 5pm).

The damage: Prices start from Dhs100 for one mattress during the week and Dhs250 on the weekend. For reservations, email info@covebeach.com or call (050) 454 6920.

Opening hours: Daily from 11am to 3am.

Nikki Beach

Nikki-Beach-beach clubs

Where: Pearl Jumeira

Vibe: There’s only one reason we would venture to this part of town (it’s so far it’s past the flag pole!), and that would be to spend an afternoon lounging pool-side at this European-style beach haunt. Like all of the other Nikki Beaches around the globe – there are several, from Miami to Thailand – people tend to go here to tan while they party. Expect cut-out costumes aplenty, a swim-up bar and live saxophone players roaming the pool while house hits blast from the speakers.

The damage: Daytime entry is Dhs150 during weekdays and Dhs300 on weekends which includes a soft drink, sun towel and lounger. For reservations, email info.dubai@nikkibeach.com or call (04) 376 6162.

Opening hours: Daily from 1pm to 9pm. During Ramadan 2017, the beach club will open daily from 3pm to 7pm and will be closed between July 1 and September 1.

Blue Marlin Ibiza UAE

beach club - blue marlin

Where: Golden Tulip Al Jazira Hotels and Resort, Ghantoot

Vibe: It’s been a few years since this Ibiza institution set up shop in the UAE, and the beach party is still going strong. On Fridays and Saturdays, expect cool beats mixed by the resident DJs, dancing on day-beds, and platters of sushi and pitchers of cocktails brought straight to your bed. Note, it’s first-come-first-served for the sun loungers and beds, so be sure to get there early to nab a good spot.

The damage: Sun loungers have a minimum spend of Dhs350 each. For reservations, email reservation@bluemarlinibiza-uae.com or call (05) 6113 3400.

Opening hours: Open on Friday and Saturdays only, from 1pm to 11pm. The closing party for the summer is on May 25, 2017 and will reopen in September 2017.
