New direction

Looks like the star of our November issue, Pam Nasr, is carving out a fashion career for herself. Lebanese filmmaker not only closed Christopher John Roger’s show at New York Fashion Week, but she has also been cast as one of the faces for Valentino’s Spring/Summer 2020 campaign.

The dreamy collection featuring couture-level craftsmanship and a pure colour palette was captured by Dutch photography duo Inez and Vinoodh. Revealed by the brand on Instagram, creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli wanted to elevate the classic pieces, such as a white shirt, by playing with proportions, fabric and texture.

“A freshness of mood, a hybridization of perspective. White, the color that lives in close relationship with the whole chromatic spectrum, comes to life for #ValentinoSS20,” the brand wrote on one of the posts.

Pam is seen in a kimono-style white shirt that features a pleated balloon sleeve that ties at the waist. It was styled with gold and black chandelier earrings.

In our interview, she explained her inspiration for debut film “Clams Casino” which she unveiled last year. Dressed head to toe in Gucci, she also attributed her creativity and enthusiasm for the arts to her upbringing.

“My creative drive and the way I choose to engage with the world around me primarily comes from my upbringing. I was given the freedom to experiment and follow my own journey from a very young age. I wouldn’t say someone inspired me, rather I owe my inspirations to everyday encounters. I feel lucky to have spent a good amount of time in four different cities; Dubai, Beirut, London, and New York. My experiences in each of them have truly shaped and informed who I am as a creative today.”
