Thanks to Al Isra’a Wal Mi’raj, or ‘Ascension Day’ an Islamic holiday observed each year on the 27th day of the Islamic month of Rajab, this working week is going to be a short one. But the holiday also means one day will be dry.
Hospitality managers have confirmed that on Tuesday, May 3, bars will not be serving alcohol from 6pm, resuming normal service on Wednesday, May 4 from 7pm. So, if you have planned a girlie evening at the any of Dubai’s popular Tuesday ladies’ nights do note that it will be dry.
The Al Isra’a Wal Mi’raj holiday marks the night that the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) made the journey from Mecca to Jerusalem and then ascended to heaven.

The government confirmed Thursday May 5 will be an official paid holiday for everyone working in the UAE.
