1.Mini-food2

A slider is a bite-sized burger. If you have older children, you could make these twice the size. 3 slices white bread, crusts removed.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 slices white bread, crusts removed
  • 4tbsp milk
  • 1 red onion (approx 125g/4½ oz), finely chopped
  • 1tbsp olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 250g (9oz) chicken or turkey mince
  • 2tsp dark soy sauce
  • 3tbsp tomato chutney
  • 1tsp tomato purée
  • 2tbsp sunflower oil, for frying
  • Salt and pepper, to season

METHOD

  • Put the bread in a food processor and whiz to make breadcrumbs. Add the milk and leave to soak.
  • Meanwhile, sauté the onion for five minutes in the olive oil until softened. Add the garlic and cook for a further minute.
  • Transfer to a food processor and add the remaining ingredients. Season to taste and whiz for one minute to chop and combine.
  • Heat the sunflower oil in a large frying pan. Drop the mixture in tablespoons into the pan. Press down slightly using a wet teaspoon. Sauté for two to three minutes on each side or until golden and cooked through.
