Life as a supermodel has taken Tyra Banks to places the globe over, but it seems the UAE definitely holds a special place in her heart.

Visiting the emirate of Dubai once again, Banks was one of many stars on the red carpet at Museum of the Future on Monday night for the inaugural TIME100 Gala and Impact Awards, marking the first big event for “the world’s most beautiful building” which opened back in February.

Speaking exclusively to Emirates Woman on the red carpet, the former America’s Next Top Model host shared just how much she loves travelling to the UAE.

“Every time I’m on the plane to go back to the United States I think it’s too soon as we have so much to do and I feel so alive here,” she said. “The architecture, the people and overall it’s a very special place.”

Continuing to highlight the architecture of the emirate, Banks noted the Museum of the Future, where the gala took place, is particularly spectacular.

“Museum of the Future is known for its immaculate attention to detail and unique design,” she said. “Every single time I pass by Sheikh Zayed Road, the striking calligraphy on this elliptical structure boldly stands and out and it has always left me intrigued as to what it entails.

“Hence, I’m over the moon to be visiting this iconic structure for this event.”

This year alone, Banks has travelled to the UAE on many occasions, which just adds to her already incredibly busy schedule. This is where the supermodel-turned-entrepreneur has learned first-hand the importance of balance in both her work and personal life.

“Focus, focus and focus,” she said. “At one point I used to be playing with my son and on the other hand attending to an important call, while cooking dinner and then realised, it’s important to do one thing at a time.

“Whether it was telling my son that I need one hour to really focus or telling my team that I need to take the day off to be with my family. Hence, compartmentalising and focus is really key.”

While she’s found her secret to balance, Banks isn’t slowing down any time soon. In fact, she revealed she’s set to bring her own brand, Smize Cream, to the Middle East for the first time.

Is there anything this woman can’t do? The answer is no.
