Last night Hollywood’s elite huddled together under a host of umbrellas, decked in their finest to strut along a drenched red carpet for the opening ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival.
With The Great Gatbsy opening the film festival last night couture-clad celebrities wowed on the red-carpet.

Darling in Dior
The pale beauties stole the show
Two of our favourite starlets battled it out for best dressed both wearing Dior. Nicole Kidman wore a heavily embellished strapless Dior number with neon stilettos, while Carey Mulligan donned a jaw-dropping, floor length pale pink gown.
Best of the brights
They may have clashed with the red carpet but that didn’t stop these beauties from standing out. Rocking a pop of colour that screamed screen siren, Isla Fisher wore Oscar de la Renta. Freida Pinto opted for a hot pink Gucci number and Georgia May Jagger looked divine in a red embellished frock.
Top of the trains
Chart toppers, Florence and Lana Del Ray both choose to wear floor sweeping printed gowns. Florence opted for a pink polka dot Miu Miu creation while Lana wore monochrome lace.
Black & White
The supermodels went classic in black and white frocks, adding some always-welcome drama to the evening. Despite a fake tan disaster, Cara Delevingne looked incredible in black lace Burberry and Cindy Crawford went for a plunging white style by Roberto Cavalli.
