Bashar Assaf is a Lebanese fashion designer currently based in Beirut. He spent his formative years living in Jeddah and studied at Esmod fashion school after returning to Lebanon. Soon after completing his studies, Bashar began to work as a designer and stylist for clients in music, film, theatre and television. In December 2012, he was chosen as one of Starch Foundation’s designers and he was recently nominated for Best Upcoming Designer in the Middle East at the Elle Style Awards.
Bashar Assaf’s garments aim to challenge concepts of the female form through the brave use of geometry tempered by a sensitive approach to fabric and craftsmanship. The collection focuses on framing the female body through sharply tailored cuts mixed with novel prints.
