Ever since I was a young fashionista, Gucci has been the top of my wish list.
Perhaps it was the equestrienne print – I come from a family of avid horse lovers – or the glamour Tom Ford injected in the 90s, but every time I pass a store or spot a Gucci advert, my heart beats just that little bit faster.
2009 was the year it all came together. I visited Monaco with my parents and was delighted when my father decided to gift my mother with a Gucci bag. Needless to say, I was there to assist and carry the cardboard shopping bag around the city.

I must admit, one of the main reasons I went into fashion was so I could spend my days lusting over the latest Gucci goodies and I lived in the hope that one day I would have a fabulous event when I could wear a fabulous gown.
Well they do say dreams can come true. And mine certainly did…
Within my first few weeks of joining Emirates Woman I was whisked away into my dream world when I was asked to pull some items from the Gucci showroom. I could barely contain my excitement.

With the Emirates Woman Awards coming up, I needed to find a gown. Only in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine borrowing a Gucci creation. The next thing I knew, I was back in the Gucci Showroom picking up Look 34.

I had the most magical evening at the EWAs, quite literally floating around, receiving compliments left, right and centre.
So who could blame me when an invitation came in for the IWC Gala for The Dubai International Film Festival to speed dial the girls at Gucci.

The lucky horseshoe
The fairy tale finishes with a happy ending, now I have my first piece of Gucci leather in the form of a horseshoe luggage tag – this will take a proud spot on every handbag I wear.
