She celebrated the one-year anniversary of Fenty Beauty in style
Rihanna was in Dubai this weekend for the first-ever live Fenty Beauty Artistry & Beauty Talk. 250 lucky beauty fans were treated to a step-by-step masterclass at the Armani hotel at the Burj Khalifa.
Rihanna mc’d the event, answering questions from the crowd, whilst her two make-up artists Hector Espinal and Priscilla Ono carried out tutorials on four models on stage. The models included Halima Aden, the stunning hijab wearing model from the Fenty launch campaign.
Rihanna talked about the Arab region at the event. The singer and beauty entrepreneur revealed that she was inspired by the spice markets and souks in Morocco, whilst visiting the country, which led to the creation of the range of colours in her Moroccan eye palette.
The star also suggested that she might launch a palette inspired by Dubai in the future, joking that the eye palette would “definitely be gold and regal”.
Rihanna also discussed her popular foundation range, revealing how her mother had inspired the range. She said “it was important to me to have an inclusive range. My mom is darker than me. I couldn’t conceive of having a range that didn’t cater to her too.”
Rihanna wore a look from Riccardo Tisci’s debut Burberry show for the event, stepping out in a stunning trompe l’oeil silk trench dress from the debut SS19 runway collection.
