Make the most of the long weekend and indulge in all that our city has to offer…
Feast | Forget the health-kick, Eid is all about celebration and enjoying a good meal.
Head to the Palm and visit Jumeirah Zebeel Saray Hotel & Resort. This elaborate hotel is tricked out in opulent Turkish décor, inspired by the Ottoman Empire. With eight eateries there are plenty of options but we say try one of their signature dining restaurants. Our pick is Amala that offers the most delicious Indian cuisine and for a set price of Dhs285 you can have as many a la carte dishes as you desire. Call (04) 4530444 for reservations
Food | We’ll admit when it comes to supermarkets and grocery stores, we’re pretty spoilt for choice in Dubai. However, we do miss a local market – We blame this on a recent trip to California where, we witnessed their incredible Farmers Market oozing with locally grown goods. Luckily Ripe has come to the rescue! Housed in the Dubai Garden Centre, Ripe offers some of the best organic produce in the region as well as kitsch trinkets and gifts. Every Saturday from 9am until 1pm. Call (04) 3807602 for more information
Shop | After reporting on Level Shoe District late last week, it is still Team EW’s topic du jour. The 97,000 square ft shoe emporium housing brands such as Alaïa, Sergio Rossi and Louis Vuitton is something all shoe fanatics need to see. Located in The Dubai Mall, we highly recommend a visit and whilst your there, nip into Symphony Boutique. New season Naeem Khan beaded gowns have just landed on the store floor and we promise, you’ll love them!
Stay | Living in Dubai, we’re lucky enough to be situated next to some incredible getaway spots and Eid is the ideal time to take a weekend trip. Our pick? The Qasr Al Sara Desert Resort by Anantara. Just a few hours drive from Dubai, this idyllic sanctuary is located on the beautiful Liwa Desert and will guarantee a luxurious weekend away for those needing a little R&R. Go for the ‘Desert Discovery’ package, which offers complimentary breakfast and two desert activities per person when staying for two nights.
