There are few designers who can cause quite such levels of hysteria. Whose name is met with breathy, staring-into-middle-distance responses and who can reduce grown, otherwise sophisticated, women to giddy teenagers. But there’s something about Isabel Marant’s creations, her preternatural eye for cool, and her ability to epitomise Parisian insouciance that sets her apart from the rest. So when the stylish folk at Boutique 1 helped her open her first Middle Eastern boutique a few weeks ago, we reacted in a suitably hyperactive manner. Sitting down with the woman herself only cemented our fangirl status – not only was she the pinnacle of elegant nonchalance, but she because she was also in possession of quite possibly the best, most throaty laugh we’ve ever heard.
