Jordan and the UAE continue to hold a very special bond, with leaders of both countries regularly making visits to each other’s nations.

This weekend marked another visit from Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania, where they received a prestigious award.

The couple were welcomed by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and the Mother of the Nation.

Being recognised for their humanitarian efforts, the royal couple received the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity at the Founders Memorial ceremony in Abu Dhabi.

Having contributed towards building a more peaceful environment, Queen Rania is known for passionate advocacy towards refugees’ rights and philanthropic initiatives that promote education, equality and a better quality of life. Both her efforts and her husband’s humanitarian efforts were recognized by the UAE.

Queen Rania shared a post on Instagram with a caption that read, “During my trip His Majesty to the United Arab Emirates today, and in the company of Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Her Excellency Shamma bint Suhail Faris Al Mazrui. Many thanks to the United Arab Emirates, for its wise leadership and its people for their kind invitation and warm hospitality.”

Sheikh Mohammed congratulated the royals for their ongoing effort to protect the peace and their unwavering commitment to generosity in the Arab world and globally.

During their visit, discussions pertaining to bilateral relations and international developments were also conducted as Jordan and the UAE continue to maintain a healthy and strong relationship.
