Founder of skincare brand Nourished3 Annie Jaffrey talks us through her beauty routine.

Talk us through your morning routine.

I typically get up around 6:30am as I love time to myself in the morning. After brushing my teeth, I drink some fresh water and then I make warm water with lemon. Hydration first thing in the morning is so essential after being asleep, it not only energizes me, but gets my digestive system going as its beneficial for my skin and health too. I then like to move my body, either by going for a walk, doing Pilates at home or occasionally I also do a workout class. After that, I like to either meditate or journal depending on how I feel.  I then head into the shower, wash my face and focus on my skincare routine before getting dressed, making breakfast and getting my day started.

How does your evening routine differ?

I love having a relaxing shower at the end of the day with a really beautiful, naturally-scented body wash to soothe and ease my mind. I visualize any worries from the day getting washed off my body while instantly relaxing me. I love Epsom salt baths combined with a few drops of essential oils such as lavender or eucalyptus to calm the senses. I then prioritise my evening skincare routine which consists of cleansing, a face mask 1-2 times per week, followed by serum and moisturizer. After having dinner, I love making a mint tea, and reading a few pages of whichever book I’m currently loving usually related to self-development or wellness. I find this so calming and therapeutic, as it truly relaxes me before bed, yet also inspires me with creativity and helpful ideas which I can implement in my life.

What are your go-to skincare products?

A few of my go-to favourites are the Protini Polypeptide Cream by Drunk Elephant, the Universal C Skin Refiner by Beauty Stat, the Clarify & Brighten Face Mask by Nourished3 and the UV-Clear SPF 46 by Elta MD.

Which masks work best?

My favourite mask is the one we spent two years creating called the Clarify & Brighten Face Mask by Nourished3 featuring AHA’s, BHA, sulfur, vitamin C, niacinamide, zinc and more – it’s the most incredible formula to brighten, exfoliate, hydrate and plump skin naturally. It gives me a gorgeous healthy glow and keeps my skin clear and blemish-free.

How would you describe your approach to makeup?

I think makeup is a great tool that can be used to enhance your natural beauty.

It’s important, however, to take care of your skin both from the inside and out, so you can feel confident and beautiful without it as well. I would describe my personal makeup style as soft, natural and fresh.

Which products are perpetually in your makeup bag?

A great concealer to brighten under my eyes is the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger shade. I also love a loose setting powder to lock it in place all day to prevent creases. I also fill in and define my brow shape as it really frames the eyes. I then curl my lashes and apply mascara to open them up, finish off with some bronzer, a peachy blush, a little glow on the tops of the cheekbones and a rosy soft lip color.

Let’s talk fragrance. What are you loving at the moment?

I am currently loving Jour d’Hermes, it’s fresh, lightweight and uplifting.

Talk us through your hair routine?

I highlight my hair and use heat styling tools a few times per week, so I really focus on using products to bring back the strength and shine. I love deep conditioning masks once per week and use a purple shampoo every other time I wash my hair to help keep the color looking fresh and cooled-toned, as otherwise it can lean on the warm side. I also apply a good leave-in heat protectant serum before styling to minimise damage.
