Discover a world of natural beauty, blissful tranquility and exotic culture at the Enchanted Island, Seychelles. If it’s good enough for supermodels and rockstars…

THE LOW DOWN

The Enchanted Island resort sits on its own private island in the glorious Seychelles, making it an idyllic escape for those seeking peace in paradise. It’s no surprise that rock legend Ronnie Wood stayed there for three weeks straight – privacy is paramount as is the needs of the customer.

Surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean and part of the National Marine Park, the resort is alive with verdant flora and vibrant fauna.

Staff are so friendly and joyous that you feel like you are residing among life-long acquaintances. No demand is too big or small, your every whim is catered for.

The five-star service starts the moment you leave the airport where a chauffeur with welcoming flower garlands drives you to the Mahé jetty. From here you board a speedboat and cruise through the tropical waters. On arrival at the resort you’re greeted with a welcome drink – pure luxury. Spread across five acres, all of the 10 boutique-style villas reflect the island’s traditional Creole-Seychellois architecture and ambiance – there is a homely feel to the resort. All villas feature a private infinity pool, outdoor decking area with gazebo – ideal for sunrise breakfast – outdoor rain shower and French bath tub as well as an outdoor toilet. Word of advice on the toilets: leave the lid down in order to prevent critters getting inside. Showering outside during a storm is an experience not to be missed.

Book a couple’s treatment for an extra romantic touch.

For something more energetic, hit the fully equipped gym, which includes free weights and cardiovascular equipment. Alternatively make use of the snorkelling equipment, as well as kayaks offered at the Watersports Centre, and explore the waters and what lies beneath.

STYLISH EATS

There’s only one restaurant, but once you’ve tried Head Chef Ulric Denis’ personalised culinary creations you won’t want to go anywhere else. Ulric oozes Seychellois charm and is all too happy to serve you a truly impressive creation that isn’t on the menu.

Thanks to it’s wonderful location the seafood is incredibly succulent (try the fish curry) and the hotel has started to develop its own vegetable garden, ensuring the local produce is as fresh as can be.

For a truly luxurious experience book in-room dining through your butler (who is available 24/7) and be treated like royalty as you’re served a candlelit dinner tailored to your dietary needs.
