From Abu Dhabi airport to the Dubai Metro

Still not sure how the UAE is tackling Coronavirus? Emirati YouTuber Khalid Al Ameri explored services across Dubai and Abu Dhabi to show exactly what they are doing to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

In the video, he walks us through what happens on arrival at Abu Dhabi airport and show the thermal cameras highlight anyone who has a temperature of over 37.5oC. That individual then goes onto a secondary check with an ear thermometer in a designated area. In that space they take a swab of the throat and nose, and if the test comes back positive, passenger gets transported to a hospital in the capital.

Khalid then heads to see what the Dubai metro is doing to keep the commuters safe. From intensifying the cleaning process, to extra staff training, the video showcases that the public transport is making best efforts to prevent the spread of the virus.

Next up are the medical facilities, focusing on Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He speaks to the doctors who explain the steps that are taken with patients who have coronavirus. The video also showed the role UAE has played on the global scale, from treating 215 people evacuated from China, to UAE military transport sending 7.5 tonnes of medical equipment to Iran.

Following new cases of Coronavirus in the UAE, The Ministry of Education announced a four-week period of closure for all schools and universities in the country.

Last week Minister of Health and Prevention announced that UAE is creating a medical facility for coronavirus patients in the event of a global emergency. There has been a total of 27 reported cases in the UAE so far.
