It’s all about the next generation, organisers say.

Emirati talent will have a spot on the world stage this month, as 10 UAE designers head to the world’s largest design fair in Milan, Italy.

Dubai Design District is behind the move, hosting an exhibition called ‘UAE Design Stories: The Next Generation from The Emirates’ at Salone Del Mobile International Design Fair, also known as Milan Design Week.

Curated by top Emirati designer Khalid Shafar, the exhibition represents the best and brightest of young design talent in the UAE. From jewellery to furniture to sculpture and interiors, there’s a lot to love in this group.

These are the names we’re all going to know about in pretty short order. Think Aljoud Lootah, Latifa Saaed, Azza Al Qubaisi, and Alia Mazrooei, to name a few.

The fair runs from April 17 to 22, and will give the designers the chance to put their work in front of buyers and big names from all over the world.

“Curating an exhibition that focuses entirely on Emirati talent at the world’s most important international design event in Milan this month is nothing but a serious mission which I am honoured and proud to take on,” Shafar wrote on Instagram.

We’re thinking these Emirati up-and-comers are bound to shine.

From the Dubai Design District to the world, right? Best of luck.
