Alice & Olivia

Friday the 13th may be unlucky for some, but with a weekend like this lined up, we say au contraire! From beach parties and brunches to fitness fashion and biking, we’re not quite sure how we’re going to fit everything in. Here at team EW, we love a challenge.

REVELLING IN AWARD-WINNING NIGHTLIFE

White Dubai

There’s nothing quite like an open air club, so it’s no surprise that White Dubai has won the title of World’s Finest Club. The baton is being passed on, with previous winners including the likes of Play in Budapest, Tamarai in Cairo and Billionaire Club in Istanbul. Given that it’s a special night, we have no doubt White will be more electric than ever. White Dubai, Meydan Grandstand Rooftop. Visit the website.

WORKING UP A SWEAT IN STYLE

Hautletic

There’s no reason to waver from your fashionable self while exercising, and at EW we love our active wear. Fitness meets fashion store, Hautletic, have gone on the road, opening a pop-up shop at Physique 57. The mini-boutique will have a range of high-end fitness brands, including Pilot Athletic, Splits59 and Vice Active. Catch it before it’s gone at the end of the month. Visit the website.

DANCING ON THE BEACH

Blue Marlin

Is there ever an excuse needed to visit Blue Marlin? Maybe not, but we’ll give you one anyway. UNER and Nakadia are continuing a season of international DJ talent with a set this Friday. Both have made waves on the European music scene in the last few years, with big-name collaberations and awards. Visit the website.

EXPANDING OUR WAISTLINES

China Grill

Restaurant of the moment, China Grill, is launching TOY brunch – because you can never have too many brunches. The concept draws inspiration from New York, with a lively atmosphere and delicious food. We can’t wait to go and play! Toy Brunch, China Grill, The Westin, Fridays. Visit the website.

GIVING OUR WARDROBES A BOOST

Market

We’re always looking for ways to be kinder to the environment, and Prime Dubai Designer Market is the perfect opportunity. The pre-loved designer and vintage items are a great way to recycle. What’s more, with stalls from emerging designers, it’s a great way to support local talent. The monthly event is set to be a regular in our diary. Saturday 14 March, Beach Park Plaza. Visit the website.

PUTTING PEDAL TO THE POWER

Liv

Cycling is getting big in Dubai, with new routes and biking groups springing up all over the place. The Middle East’s first ever cycling store dedicated to women, Liv, has just opened in Box Park. More than being a place to buy your gear, it’s also a great place to meet fellow female cyclists and get advice. Opened by Bonnie Tu, aka the Grandmother of Cycling, Liv is worth a visit just to speak to someone as passionate as Bonnie. Visit the website.

ONE FOR THE WEEK

Lucy Choi

What better way to cheer up a manic Monday (or slow Sunday, for that matter) than with some retail therapy? We love Lucy Choi’s latest collection of luxury footwear. It’s little wonder she has talent, being the niece of shoe designer extraordinaire, Jimmy Choo. Visit sivvi.com
