Dubai has already scaled great heights as the home to the world’s tallest building, but the emirate has also been declared one of the top five cities across the globe.
In a new report by Resonance Consultancy, metropolitan cities with populations of over one million were ranked based on key statistics and user-generated reviews. Similarly, activity online was also analysed across platforms like Instagram, Google and Facebook.
A total of 250 cities were analysed in the ‘World’s Best Cities Report 2021’ in order to identify the top 100 cities to live in, with Dubai ranking at number five in the world.
In the report, it outlined that Dubai is an “alluring blend of over-the-top experiences, Arab heritage and luxury shopping”.

Similarly, the upcoming Expo 2020 Dubai, sites like the Museum of the Future and the Burj Khalifa and the government’s focus on economic development have aided in such a high ranking for the emirate.
In addition, the report highlighted Dubai has “attracted the highest proportion of foreign-born population of any city worldwide” which has added to the appeal of the city to so many.
The city which topped the list was London followed by Paris, New York City and Moscow, with Dubai rounding out the top five.
Japan’s capital Tokyo ranked at number six, followed by Singapore, Los Angeles, Barcelona and Madrid.
