Visit the world’s largest wheel
The wait is finally over, Ain Dubai is set to open this weekend on October 21, 2021. The record-breaking wheel has been in the works for quite a while – construction began in May 2015. Six years on, Ain Dubai is ready to officially open. The prestigious project, which is a part of Dubai Holding’s entertainment portfolio, will consist of 48 high-tech cabins offering 360-degree views of Dubai’s impressive skyline. Located on Bluewaters Island, this enclosed capsule reaches an astonishing height of up to 820 feet, making it the largest observation wheel in the world with three cabins including Observation, Social and Private cabins for different purposes depending on the occasion. It will be open daily from 12pm to 10pm with each rotation of the wheel lasting for about 38 minutes each.

Visit a luxe fashion pop-up
If you’re heading to Dubai Mall this weekend, make sure to visit the Saint Laurent pop-up store the Maison’s Winter 21 collection with a special prelaunch of the Sade Puffer envelope in three metallic colours. The Sade in gold, silver & rose will be exclusively offered during the pop-up. The limited-time pop-up store uses led screens to create a sense of transparency while showcasing the creative video conceived by Anthony Vaccarello. The flexible modular construction can be integrated into different spaces. This new design concept debuts for the first time in the Middle East in the fashion catwalk of The Dubai Mall. The pop-up will be in the Dubai Mall until October 23.
Escape Dubai and dine alfresco in Ajman
Escape the hustle and bustle of the city for an afternoon and visit the newly opened stunning beachside speciality restaurant, Aquario. Located only a 40-minute drive from Dubai at The Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah, Aquario is the perfect outdoor setting for an intimate dinner or for those special celebrations. Try a new secret speakeasy
A new secret speakeasy has opened hidden inside La Cantine du Faubourg and this long weekend is the perfect time to visit. Behind an unassuming door, you’ll find Gohan, a new independent Japanese restaurant concept by the La Cantine team. Small in size but impressive in character, the venue is a celebration of authentic and conventional Japanese dining rooms. Like the venue itself, the name Gohan (御飯) has humble and affectionate traits, it translates as “meal of any sort” and is often used colloquially to refer to any cooked rice dish. It is personal, traditional and intimate. The food concept is a take on an “elegant street food”, a selective and deliberately refined menu of skewers, sushi and gyoza working with the highest quality ingredients and introducing high-end foreign products such as foie gras and caviar into the mix.
