In times of hardship, it’s safe to say it brings out the best in some people and businesses.
This certainly brings true to Zabeel House by Jumeirah, The Greens as it is directly giving back to the community to families who have been hit hard due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In an incredible act of kindness, the hotel is offering eight families a week-long stay for free. It’s a move which general manager of the hotel, Luke James, says was “only natural” in order to help those who have been left in hardship due to the economic effect COVID-19 has had.
“Zabeel House by Jumeirah, The Greens is a community hotel by its very nature, with a wonderful network of neighbours and friends,” James said. “Since we’ve reopened and welcomed back our regular guests, we’ve heard of several people going through quite a tough time given all the challenges of the last few months – we’re all one community and it’s only natural to help each other.”

Initially made as a simple post on Facebook, James has said the traction it received has now “spiralled”. He just hopes the offer will be able to help those who have been left struggling to make ends meet, and to help “alleviate some of the immediate concerns they may be facing”.
With eight week-long stays up for grabs for free, this offer will definitely help families who are struggling. The only cost to bear would be a mandatory Dhs15 fee per night from Dubai Tourism.
Given the traction the initial Facebook post about the free stays gained, James is hoping other establishments will follow suit.
“We’re hoping it will spur other hotels in a similar position to offer the same, ultimately giving back to the community in a time of need, we literally are stronger together,” he said. “We’ve already had partners like Coffee Planet, African & Eastern, Opaala and our sister hotel Jumeirah Zabeel Saray come on board to add value to our initial offer.
“It’s great to see the knock-on effect and we really hope it continues.”
