Team EW easily falls in love with anything Pierpaolo Piccioli touches. He masterfully combines romance with modernity, creating our dream wardrobe one frilly piece at a time.
While his mainline Valentino collection and Haute Couture line take centre stage, he is not forgetting the youthful and edgy REDValentino range and has recently given it a fresh perspective. Still carrying the codes of the historic Maison, the newest pieces bring a tough attitude to elegant pieces that can take you from day-to-night.
To further celebrate the new look for REDValentino, the brand unveils a Dubai capsule collection that includes a limited edition lace dress that comes in two colours, and special rhinestones-adorned RED(V) Sandie pumps in two heel heights. The dress is a standout piece, featuring flowing spiral ruffles, a long sleeve, contrasting colour crepe de chine, and vertical inserts in the skirt that add volume and movement.
The campaign was shot by Dubai-based photographer Prod Antzoulis and stars Palestinian fashion model Lana Albeik and in-demand DJ Parvané Barret.
Discussing the creative collaboration that carries an 80s mood, Antzoulis said: “A definite highlight for me was the opportunity to work with a brand that is both bold and eccentric while maintaining a romantic and dreamy feel. Also, getting the chance to collaborate with likeminded creatives who are also good friends is always a great source of inspiration for me.”
As well as showcasing the Dubai capsule, the trio also styled some of the key pieces from the fierce Fall/Winter 2020-21 Pre-Collection. Albeik already picked out her favourite – the little red dress with frills.
Barret added: “The collections within the brand are always quite versatile, including elements of lace, ripped denim and puffy sleeves. It’s very diverse and inclusive as a whole.”
REDValentino’s limited edition will be available at Dubai Mall Flagship store starting from June 292020. The shoes are priced Dhs1,800 and the dress (that comes in black and blush pink) is Dhs4,500.
