Middle East is one of the best places to look to for contemporary jewellery brands, and Zaabel is the latest to cross our radar.
Co-founder Hina Israr grew up Saudi Arabia before her family moved to Dubai. She studied in a boarding school in India and then went to Sydney for her higher education. Dubai was her second home and where the idea for the brand was born, with many of the collections inspired by her early memories of visiting the souks as a child.
Now based in Seattle, she works alongside Sooryia Tharayil – who is based in India where the jewellery is crafted from 18kt gold and gemstones. At the core of the brand is their desire to create eclectic pieces that fit a multifaceted lifestyle of a modern woman. Ideal for everyday, the sophisticated pieces that pay tribute to the nature around us.
Highlights include the Tree of Life Earrings, featuring white diamonds and multi-coloured green and pink tourmalines set in 18kt yellow gold. The earrings cascade in an organic design suggesting the branches of a tree. The Gingko Earrings offer a subtle sense of the movement of a spray of flowers gently swaying in the wind, while the Petals Ear Studs offer a dramatic and arresting fan of gold and diamonds for the ears.
The Grazia Earrings perfectly evoke the veins of a leaf with their lattice design in this long line earring design in 18kt gold with a white diamond stud detail. Necklaces including the beautiful Textured Shell Necklace, acknowledging ocean life in this pendant style chain, which is studded with a dazzling display of white diamonds. The Bee Necklace too is a tribute to this gentle creature and this necklace is available in either rose gold or yellow gold and set with white diamonds.
