Emirati designer Hamda Abdulla has only recently established her Dubai-based jewellery house, but it has been grabbing the attention of diamond enthusiasts and editors.

Focusing on shapes and detail, her creations offer a touch of modern minimalism to your outfit. From mother of pearl and full pave, to lotus-shaped bracelets to floating rings, she offers a wide-range of finishes making it even easier for you to choose the right style for you. The variety also offers plenty of stacking opportunities.

Produced in limited numbers, her first collection was a tribute to the 7 Emirates. Named “Seven/Seven”, it was created specifically for brides looking for unusual jewellery, something that is traditional and modern at the same time. The inspiration came from what each Emirate is known for, its geographical location, trade and landmarks.

Dubai’s piece combined the different heights of its skyline in vertical lines, along with pearls adding a luxurious feel. Pearls were also chosen because of a common saying that Dubai is “the world’s pearl”.

Fujairah is known for its mountains as well as pure and clear water. The pieces took their cue from the rugged mountains and shimmering blue waters. She used sapphire to represent the deep sea and aquamarine to reflect the shallow waters.

Ras AlKhaimah’s piece is inspired by what is considered to be the highest mountain in the UAE, Jebel Jais. The patterns paid tribute to the inconsistent peaks  and she chose Letterwood to represent the colour and texture of the terrain.

For everyday, Abdulla introduced Exclusive 01 collection featuring a lotus shape, and geometric-shaped Exclusive 02 collection. These stackable bracelets come in various finishes such as mother of pearl, Onyx⁣ and full diamond pave.

Our personal favourite is the Embrace Collection that offers a different take on floating diamonds. The Original ring, for example, places diamonds either side of the finger, with the band barely visible which creates the “floating” illusion.

The website is still under construction but you can enquire about your favourite pieces via info@hamdaabdulla.ae.
