A Dubai-based artist has left an important message for everyone on Jumeirah Beach.

Working with Brand Dubai, Filipino artist Nathaniel Alapide has used the sand as his canvas and is relaying the key message all UAE residents and citizens need to adhere to: stay home.

Last week, the artist raked #StayHome into the sand in order to help spread the message to all citizens, residents, visitors and everyone else staying in Dubai. The phrase was carved into the sand in both Arabic and English.

The stay home mantra is crucial in a bid to contain the spreading of coronavirus, and hasn’t just been implemented in the UAE, but all over the world with many countries on official lockdowns.

A video of the message created by Alapide was shared on the Brand Dubai Instagram page.

Addressing his four million Twitter followers, His Highness told everyone to “urgently recognise the serious of the new reality we live in”.

He noted how the global COVID-19 pandemic was worsening “at an exponential pace”, but recognises the “tireless efforts” of the medical and health teams has helped protect communities in Dubai.

“‪This pandemic is a very real threat to each and every one of us, our families and friends,” he said. “The only way to guarantee that we safeguard the wellbeing of our loved ones is to ACT now, TOGETHER and WITHOUT exceptions. Stay Home.‬”

Yesterday it was confirmed the total coronavirus cases in the country has increased to 570. There has been been a total of 58 recoveries and three fatalities.
