Always Coca-Cola.
We have been eagerly awaiting the opening of the new event space in City Walk, especially with the announcement that Maroon 5 will be the first musical act to perform in June.
However, you won’t be referring to it as the Dubai Arena any more as it’s been taken over but an iconic fizzy drink and will now go by Coca-Cola Arena.
Developer Meraas signed a 10-year deal with the American beverage company who will take over Dubai’s first and largest indoor stadium that can sit up to 17,000 spectators. Murat Ozgel, General Manager of Coca-Cola Middle East and Deputy President of Coca-Cola Middle East and North Africa, said:
“We are proud to be a part of this highly anticipated entertainment destination which demonstrates our commitment to the region. The Cola-Cola Arena will build on Dubai’s thriving entertainment industry, positively contributing to the city’s ambitions to become a world-leading metropolis. The arena will create another iconic landmark in the city attracting visitors from across the world.”
The fully air-conditioned indoor arena will host international artists, sporting events, comedy gigs, gala dinners and more with Cola-Cola promising to make it a sustainable venue by 2030 with innovative elements such as humidity capture A/C units, light and water sensors, LED lights and an organic composter already incorporated.
“In line with Dubai’s vision to create a smart and sustainable city, we are committed to making the Coca-Cola Arena a sustainable venue in line with our 2030 Environmental Goals,” added Ozgel.
